Thunder victory clinches top-2 finish

A 5-1 second period helped the Langley Thunder turn a one-goal game into a 12-9 victory to wrap up their BC Junior Tier 1 Lacrosse League regular season.
The Thunder were on the road in Coquitlam on Wednesday night to face the Adanacs, with the victory guaranteeing Langley a top--two finish and a bye directly into the league's semi-final round. With a record of 14-4-0 and 28 points, only the Victoria Shamrocks (12-2-1, 25 points) are able to overtake the Thunder for first place.
The league's regular season wraps up on July 2.
Jacob Glass and Mason Eastgate each had a hat trick with Eastgate adding three assists. Entering the final week of the regular season, Eastgate leads all players with 78 points and 43 assists and is second with 35 goals.
Dallas Kilpatrick (1-4), Logan Claxton (1-3), Jameson Reed (2-1), Madden Bakatsis (1-2) and Max Larsen (1-2) completed the scoring.
Marcus Khan finished with 57 saves as Coquitlam outshot Langley 66-34. Khan leads all goalies with an .873 save percentage and he is third in goals against average (6.59) and fourth in total saves (523). In 12 games this season, his save percentage was below .833 just once.
