Thunder drop season opener
The Langley Thunder could not overcome a five-goal first-period deficit, dropping a 12-5 decision to the Coquitlam Adanacs.
The teams were playing on Tuesday night at Langley Events Centre in the first game for both teams of the BC Junior Tier 1 Lacrosse League season.
The Thunder trailed 5-0 after 20 minutes and 9-1 through 40 minutes before outscoring the Adanacs 4-3 over the final frame.
Langley was led by a goal and two assists from Tristan Kirkham and a pair of markers courtesy of Josh Bramley. Bailey Vanichuk and Nico Gerussi had a goal apiece in the defeat as well while Braiden Struss chipped in with a pair of helpers and Roni Thomas and goaltender Dryden Recksy each had an assist.
The Thunder are back in action on Saturday as they head to Victoria to face the Junior Shamrocks.
The team's next home game is Tuesday, July 13 at 8 p.m. when they welcome the New Westminster Salmonbellies to Langley Events Centre. The game will be available to stream for free at www.tfsetv.ca.
