The Langley Thunder scored three times in the 10-minute overtime period -- including back-to-back shorthanded goals 10 seconds apart -- to close the regular season with a 14-12 win on Friday night over the Delta Islanders at the Ladner Leisure Centre.

The Thunder finish the BC Junior Tier 1 Lacrosse League regular season with a record of 10-8 which has them tied for fourth place with Delta at 20 points with the New Westminster Salmonbellies (9-8) two points behind with a game to play, setting up the potential for a three-way tiebreaker for fourth place. The top six teams make the post-season.

The Thunder won despite getting outshot 77-50 with Jensen McGregor posting an .844 save percentage following his 65-save performance.

Jacob Glass paced the offence with a hat trick and five points while four others each had two-goal games: Logan Claxton (2-3), Dylan Massa (2-2), Josiah Allen (2-2) and Dreyton Goeson with Ram Tomas (1-1) and Colten Lifton adding a goa apiece.

In the overtime period, Allen gave the Thunder a 12-11 lead and after Langley took a minor penalty -- their seventh of the game compared to two penalties for Delta -- Lifton gave the team a two-goal lead with Goeson then scoring off the ensuing face-off.

The Islanders would get one back on the same power play, but could get no closer.

TRADES

The Thunder have made a pair of trades with the Maple Ridge Burrards, adding Jeremy Dybwad and Ayden Goodall in separate transactions in exchange for future considerations. Dybwad was drafted by Langley (fifth overall) in the 2026 BC Junior A Lacrosse League Entry Draft but has been playing for Maple Ridge's Tier 1 team this season.

Dybwad -- a defender -- was acquired back on June 5 and has a pair of goals over four games in a Thunder uniform. The Goodall trade was completed on June 27 and the forward was second on the Burrards with 10 goals and 23 points in 15 games.
